Here are some pictures of the soon to be opened Lolita, Cocina & Tequila Bar in Byram. This is one of the CB5 restaurant group's ventures; they run Baang Cafe locally. Jody Pennette, the group's chief executive, says it will be a trendy Mexican restaurant. I hope they manage to provide good food and value as well. We'll see.The restaurant is in the space formerly occupied by That Little Italian Restaurant; its a good space with an offstreet brick patio. The painter I bumped into while taking these pictures said Lolita may open within a week.

It looks like the corridor from the corner of North Main and Mill Street in Port Chester along Delavan Avenue, Byram is becoming food alley: The Kneaded Bread, Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich's trattoria down the street at the Tarry Lodge and now Lolita.
I think the improvement of services along this corridor will help real estate values in Byram as the gentrification process continues.
I work across the street from Lolita, the place has really come to life in the past couple of weeks... can't wait for my first shot of Tequila!

ReplyDeleteI ate here a few nights ago and it was great! The ambiance was fantastic, the service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Try the outdoor section, it's a great experience to eat outside and they usually show a movie (muted) on the wall.

ReplyDeleteWe had a horrible experience there last night. When we arrived at 8:45 for our reservation they claimed they did not have it, but reasured us that there would be no problem seating us. They told us to wait at the bar. At 9:15 I went back to ask about when we might possibly be seated, we were told that we would have to wait for people with reservations first. We then left and went down the street to Tarrylodge where we were seated right away.
